Sept 27-29, 2007. Environmental Training for Teachers.  20 High School and
Elementary teachers from within Bantayan Island underwent a 3-day experiential training
on Environmental Education, Marine Conservation and Basic Environmental Law.
October 25-28, 2007. Environmental Training for Highschool and Elementary
Students. 20 High School and Elementary students from within Bantayan Island
underwent a 3-day experiential training on Marine Conservation and Basic
Environmental Law

February 21-22, 2008 Workshop and Consultative Development of the Local Fisheries
Code & Coastal Resource Management of Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island, Cebu. Forty seven
(47) participants composed of the representatives of the 10 Barangays and Municipal
Council of Sta. Fe, fisherfolks, police and experts met to learn about marine conservation
and crafted the ordinance for its protection.
May 2-3, 2008. Eco-Economic Forum and Environmental Action.  Best practices of Local
Government Units (LGUs) who has used the conservation and protection of natural
resources as its platform for governance were showcased. Participants include friends
from media, local officials and concerned citizens. This event was supported by the
Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE), Office of the Ombudsman, and the
Department of Tourism.
May 2, 2008. Launch of the Filipino Designed Glass-Bottom Boat, made of woven
bamboo (sawali) coated with fiber mat.  This project is in partnership with DOT-PCSSD
under the Greet Program.  The launch was led DOT Sec. Ace Durano, Mayor Ed Hagedorn
of Puerto Princesa and Mayor Freddie Maranon of Sagay.
